The app

Book, earn and redeem in one app

Clients book, collect points, check in with a QR code and spend their wallet credit in one app. On every plan that is the Velarya app on the App Store and Google Play, styled in your colors. On the Branded and Connected plans it is your own app, listed in both stores under your name.

Why salons are adding memberships

A salon client who visits on a rhythm is worth planning around, and a membership is how the rhythm becomes a plan. A hair salon membership program might be a blowout every month with member pricing on color, and the same idea works for nails, lashes, waxing and spray tans. The client pays on a schedule, the next service is already theirs, and your book fills with people who were coming anyway. Velarya is salon membership software built into the app your clients book, earn and redeem in.

Designing the plan

Building block What the member gets Works well for
An included service One service each cycle, picked from a list you choose Blowouts, a gloss, brows or lashes
Member pricing A percentage off a category, or a fixed member price on a service Color, treatments and longer services
Wallet credit An amount added each cycle, spent on any service Clients who book a different service each time

A short list of included services that cost you about the same keeps the plan simple. Member pricing on a category such as color is what makes a high spender choose the plan, and what keeps them from shopping around.

Memberships a salon can sell

A plan is built from your own service list, so each line of your menu can have its own plan with its own price and billing cycle. These are examples of what a plan can include.

Membership What the plan can include Member pricing on
Hair salon membership A blowout or a gloss each cycle Color and treatments
Beauty salon membership A brow or skin service each cycle Add-ons and longer treatments
Nail salon membership A manicure or pedicure each cycle Gel, art and add-ons
Lash studio membership A fill each cycle Lifts, tints and brow work
Barbershop membership A cut each cycle Beard trims and shaves
Spray tan membership A tan each cycle Add-ons
Tanning salon membership A session each cycle Upgrades and add-ons
Waxing membership A wax service each cycle Other waxing services

Price each plan so the included service costs a member less than booking it outright, and let member pricing do the rest. Members of every plan also earn points on what they spend, at a higher rate if you set one.

Billing and renewal

A plan bills monthly, quarterly or once a year on the member’s card, through your own Stripe account, and a yearly plan is charged up front. It renews automatically on the date the member joined. Monthly and quarterly plans can carry an optional commitment of three, six or twelve months with an early-cancel fee you set, and you choose which of your locations sell each plan.

What members see in the app

Members see the service waiting for them, claim it and book their stylist in the same app. Member pricing applies when they pay, credit waits in the wallet, and they earn points on what they spend. Your front desk can sell a plan with a payment link. A member can cancel from the app, and the membership runs to the end of the period they paid for. The rest of the salon program is on the salon loyalty app page.

Membership terms worth checking

This is not legal advice. Automatic renewal is governed by state law and, for online sign-ups, the federal Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, since the FTC’s 2024 click-to-cancel amendments were vacated by the Eighth Circuit in July 2025. California’s Automatic Renewal Law and New York City’s click-to-cancel rule, in effect from October 1, 2026, both expect clear terms and a simple way to cancel. Have your terms reviewed for the states you sell in.

Frequently asked questions

How does a salon membership program work?

Clients pay on a schedule in return for benefits at your salon. In Velarya a plan can include a service each cycle, member pricing on a category such as color, and wallet credit to spend on anything. Clients buy it, use it and renew it in the app they book in.

What should a plan for hair services include?

The service your regulars already book on a rhythm, such as a blowout or a gloss each cycle, picked from a short list. Add member pricing on a category such as color, which rewards the client who spends the most with you.

Which services can a salon sell as a membership?

Any service on your menu. A plan is built from your own service list, so hair, nails, lashes, brows, barbering, waxing, spray tans and tanning sessions can each have a plan with its own price and billing cycle.

Can clients pay monthly or once a year?

Both. A plan bills monthly, quarterly or once a year on the member's card, and a yearly plan is charged up front. It renews automatically, and monthly and quarterly plans can carry an optional commitment with an early-cancel fee you set.

Can members book their stylist in the app?

Yes. With Velarya booking on, members claim the included service and book the stylist and time they want in the same app. With booking off, they claim it in the app and book with you directly.

Can members cancel in the app?

Yes. A member can cancel from the app, and the membership runs to the end of the period they already paid for.

Is salon membership software different from a loyalty program?

A loyalty program rewards what clients already spend. A membership is paid ahead and renews on its own. In Velarya they run together: members earn points too, at a higher rate than everyone else if you set one.

Ready to turn visits into regulars?
